For over 26 years, Personal Independence Providers has been privileged to serve our community, delivering high-quality building services and home modifications across Melbourne. From major projects like wheelchair ramps and bathroom renovations to smaller modifications such as grab rails and tap replacements, we’ve been committed to enhancing independence and quality of life for our clients. As the sole Director, alongside my wife Lisa, I’ve taken great pride in the work we’ve done and the relationships we’ve built with you—our valued Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, Care Managers, and clients.
As we approach the next chapter of our journey, Lisa and I have made the decision to evolve our business model to align with our vision for the future. After careful consideration, we are excited to announce that Personal Independence Providers will transition to focus exclusively on our hire business, effective July 1, 2025. This pivot allows us to concentrate our efforts on what we believe is a sustainable and impactful way to continue supporting your clients—our highly successful CarePorts portable bathroom hire and the new Access Pod hire, a wheelchair-accessible portable bathroom solution (2m x 3m) for which we’ve recently secured Victorian rights.
What This Means for You
As of June 30, 2025, we will discontinue our service-based offerings, including minor home modifications (e.g., grab rails, banister rails, tap replacements) and most major modification projects. However, we will retain two specialized services—Electronic Bidet Seat installations and Cut Down Bath retrofits—due to their ongoing demand and alignment with our core mission. All other efforts will be directed toward growing and promoting our hire products, which have proven to be a reliable and efficient solution for many of your clients’ needs.
This is not a closure—far from it! Our CarePorts (portable toilet and shower combinations) and Access Pods will remain available to provide flexible, accessible bathroom solutions across Victoria. We’re deeply committed to ensuring these hire products continue to meet the high standards you’ve come to expect from us. In fact, this shift will allow us to invest more time and energy into promoting and expanding these offerings, ensuring they remain a valuable resource for you and your clients.
Why We’re Making This Change
After years of managing a wide range of services, we see this pivot as an opportunity to streamline our operations and focus on what we do best—delivering innovative hire solutions that make a real difference. This change also allows Lisa and me to spend more time traveling across Victoria to promote these products, ensuring we can personally support you and your clients with the same dedication we’ve always brought to our work.
Next Steps and Transition Period
We want to give you ample notice to plan ahead. Between now and June 30, 2025, we will complete any existing service contracts and bookings for home modifications. After this date, our focus will shift entirely to the hire business and the two retained services mentioned above. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us before then to discuss any ongoing or upcoming projects—we’re here to ensure a smooth transition.
